Based in North Wales, MCPC Systems was founded in 1997 by Dave Cartner, with an ambition to improve and professionalise grounds and leisure services provided by local authorities. Prior to establishing MCPC Systems, Dave had gained over 30 years experience in horticulture and local authority, working as a Grounds & Parks officer, where he also developed an interest in software development.

It was whilst working in local authority that Dave identified a growing need for purpose-built software solutions to help local authorities adapt successfully to the demands being made of their services and employees.

MCPC Systems’ most immediate result from identifying this problem was Colony: the UK’s first and still most successful purpose-built allotment management system, now used by over 60 local authorities and private organisations across the UK and Ireland. The achievement of Colony was soon followed by DTE Grounds – MCPC’s fully integrated and comprehensive grounds maintenance package – and quickly marked MCPC Systems as a leading presence in the public sector software market.

Over its 14 year history, MCPC Systems has continuously grown to take on a team of fulltime developers and a number of support staff.

The lasting success of Colony, along with MCPC Systems’ subsequent applications such as Groundsman, the modular DTE Suite, CFM Activities & Beach Huts have helped establish MCPC Systems as the UK’s leading independent developers and suppliers of software management solutions for the public and private sector today.
